The spider web aesthetics, also called non-surgical skin tightening, is a medical aesthetic procedure that I apply to my patients who have wrinkles not yet deepened, start sagging on their skin because of decreased skin elasticity, and want to start a general rejuvenation on their skin, with decreased clarity of their facial contours due to skin sagging. The main purpose of spider web aesthetics is to tighten the skin, provide skin rejuvenation and reduce wrinkles. The spider web aesthetics, which provides to obtain the results that make a difference in selected patients, is a very safe procedure when performed by experienced surgeons who have comprehensive knowledge of facial anatomy.
During the spider web aesthetics performed under local anesthesia, special threads are applied to get a tightening and slight lifting effect on the skin. The threads placed under the skin vertically and horizontally in a cage form, similar to the spider web, melt over time but their effect continues.
Threads called “screw” and “mono” inserted into very fine needles are placed under the skin during spider web aesthetics. Screw threads are placed perpendicular to the skin and create a partial lifting effect, while mono threads are fixed horizontally under the skin. The threads placed under the skin trigger collagen production in areas where loose and sagging skin are observed, initiate tissue healing and provide tightening by performing skin rejuvenation.

Spider web aesthetics is used in a wide variety of fields. Spider web aesthetics can be applied to the corner of eyes, nasolabial lines, chin line, neck and double-chin regions, the glabellar region where the mimic lines are formed, and the cheeks.
After spider web aesthetics, skin rejuvenation is achieved; so, the skin is tightened and gets a younger appearance. When approached from this point of view, it can be stated that spider web aesthetics has an anti-aging effect.
It takes a few months before the effects of spider web aesthetics are noticed. The effects of inflammation occurring in the treatment area and skin rejuvenation after inflammation are noticed within the first 3 months.
Although the results of spider web aesthetics are not permanent and vary from person to person, it maintains its effect for 1-2 years.
After spider web aesthetics, patients should not apply make-up for a minimum of 24 hours. After the procedure, a cold compress should be applied so as not to put too much pressure on the area. Patients should not rub the area until the threads placed under the skin are completely attached, that is, for an average of 1 month.
